That's why we choose to celebrate National Mixed Breed Dog Day (also commonly referred to as National Mutt Day) here in our office! Specifically, this holiday is celebrated annually twice a year, on July 31st and December 2nd.

The purpose of this day is to focus love and attention on mixed breed dogs, which are often overlooked in favor of purebreds and "designer" breeds. In fact, did you know that around 80% of dogs in shelters are mixed breeds? Unfortunately, because of the high demand for purebred dogs, many mixed breeds are euthanized each year as a result of shelter overcrowding. National Mixed Breed Dog Day sheds light on the fact that mutts can make excellent pets.
